A selection of approximately 160 of the most spectacular glass objects from the Islamic world is on view, ranging from those inspired by the late antique tradition in the 7th century to 19th-century Persian and Indian glass. The exhibition also includes European glass from the 13th to the 19th century, made for the Oriental market or directly inspired by Islamic models, and a selection of glass found at various archaeological sites.
Accompanied by a catalogue.

The exhibition is made possible by The Hagop Kevorkian Fund and the National Endowment for the Arts. The exhibition has been organized by The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Corning Museum of Glass. An indemnity has been granted by the Federal Council on the Arts and the Humanities.
